I read constantly, and I’m also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I’ve decided to combine the two in this blog. I’ll be writing about books and articles I’m reading (likely from a therapist point of view), and of course, any other topics I find interesting and might want to share.
Your author at work … when I say I read constantly, I do mean that. I’m usually listening to a book in the car and reading two or three nonfiction books and a novel at any given time. I also read across many genres. Just because I plan to look at books through a therapy lens doesn’t mean I’ll be reviewing only books “for” therapists. You might find me reviewing anything: science fiction or mystery, biography or theology, children’s or adult’s, “mainstream” fiction or something really out in right field. (Yes, I did mess with that idiom. I’m left-handed. So those things in left field are just, well, normal.)
I offer diversity friendly therapy to families, adults, children, and teens. If you want to know more about my professional life, check out Counseling for ACTion or my profile at GoodTherapy.org). I also teach as an adjunct professor at Sofia University (formerly the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology). Subjects I teach there include family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, and law and ethics.
I hope you enjoy the blog, and feel free to leave comments.
